Although Wonder Woman makes her first appearance in a few months in the new “Batman v Superman” movie due for release on March 25, she doesn’t score her first solo film until next year.
Directed by Patty Jenkins with a screenplay by Jason Fuchs and starring Gal Gadot as the Amazon Princess, 2017’s “Wonder Woman” will be be the first solo big screen adaption for this DC Superhero.
Not much is known about the plot at this point, other than part of the film takes place during World War 1 and that the film may skip around to different time periods.
Also starring in the film is Chris Pine (Star Trek) as Steve Trevor, Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta, Amazon Queen of Themyscira (and Diana’s Mother), Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis.
New footage from the film was shown recently on the CW special “DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League.” Some behind the scenes footage has also popped up along with new photos from the film.
Wonder Woman arrives in theaters on June 23, 2017.
