Well, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has come and… well, stayed. And judging by that box office, it will be around for some time. Love it or hate it, everything is going to be “Star Wars” for quite some time to come. I certainly hope George Lucas got some kind of backend deal and not just a $4 billion straight buy out, because it looks like just one movie is going to make most of that back for Disney, including merchandising, home video, etc… Then again, I doubt he’s complaining about $4 billion.
So in order to celebrate everything “Star Wars” I thought I’d hold a little contest with the prize being a Google Cardboard VR Headset in the image of the film’s villain, Kylo Ren. Verizon stores were giving these out a few weeks back, but they ran out quickly.
If you don’t know what a Google Cardboard VR Headset is, just check out the following video.
All that you’ll need to make this work is a smart phone and some cool apps that you can download for free. And make sure to download the Star Wars App in order to get some cool “Force Awakens” VR experiences.
So here are the rules. Very simple and direct:
Only folks in the United States are eligible. I may open that up for future contests, but I’m just going to keep it local for now. There is only one prize available. And only one entry per person allowed!
To cover all of my bases here, I just wanted to point out that I have complete discretion in terms of the rules and winner. If I find the need to change the rules at any time, I will. This is not a democracy, this is a Joemocracy! In other words, once I pick a winner, no complaining.
Shipping is covered by me. And I don’t run the post office, so I’m not responsible for what happens there.
And here’s how to enter:
At one point, “The Force Awakens” was titled “Shadow of the Empire” before inevitably being changed. So if the decision was ultimately yours to make, what would you have titled the movie?
The winner will be the one who submitted the title that I liked best. This, of course, is all very subjective. Like I said, it’s all at my discretion.
Email your movie title to joe@knowitalljoe.com. And just put “Star Wars Contest” in the subject line. If I receive the same title from different people, I will go with the person who emailed me the title first (it’s only fair).
The contest ends next Friday, January 8, 2016, at 11:59pm! I’ll announce the winner soon after.
Good Luck! And Happy Holidays!
