Edward Davis Wood, Jr. – A good filmmaker? No. An interesting filmmaker? Yes. Wood was a writer, producer, director, editor and last but not least – an actor! I’m not going to dig into all of his idiosyncrasies but I will tell you this… he was one interesting son of a bitch! If he was alive today, that is an individual I would love to spend the day with. The stories he could tell.
And that is why this posting is here today – so that you can read another one of his stories. This unproduced script which goes by the name “Rue Pigalle” was based, I believe, on his novel “Parisian Passions.” It seems as though he adapted it into a 48 page screenplay.
The story is about a Texas Cop investigating the strangling of a number of Parisian strippers. If you are an Ed Wood fan, then what you may find interesting is that the script is completely marked up, presumably by Ed Wood himself.
So please enjoy a little piece of Ed Wood history!
