Geek-Spasms Away! The new “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” trailer has awoken. It first played at the Star Wars Celebration going on right now in Anaheim California all through the weekend. It’s an event that I probably should have dragged my ass to this year. But since they are live-streaming the entire event, I chose to avoid the insane crowds. That’s always the problem with crowds… they’re crowded. It’s quieter at home and I don’t have to wait in line to use the washroom.
Though I would love to check out the 3D version of “Revenge of the Sith” which is premiering tomorrow. I’m thinking that it just has to be better than that 3D conversation they did of “The Phantom Menace.” That was, without question, the worst 3D I’ve ever seen in a theater. Yes, it was that bad. It was embarrassing. I’m sure “Sith” is probably a much better transfer. And I certainly hope they eventually release it on 3D Blu-ray. My guess is that once “The Force Awakens” hits home video next year, they’ll probably release all of the films in 3D. This, of course, means I’ll have to buy them all over again. Ehhhh! I could have funded a small country with as much as I’ve spent re-buying these films over the years. (I know, join the club).
The “Star Wars Battlefront” game Demo will be the other big panel this weekend. I certainly can’t wait to see footage from that. I’ll post the trailer for that once it’s released.
And speaking of trailers, here’s the only one that matters right now (as if you haven’t already seen it a hundred times by this point). I’ve also posted the audience reaction to seeing the trailer for the very first time at the Star Wars Celebration. Then I’ve added the first “Force Awakens” trailer, as well as a couple of other miscellaneous things. And Screenshots. Check it all out below.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” releases itself upon the masses on December 18th of this year. But you already knew that.
