So a week before Ridley Scott’s “The Martian” came out I felt the need to read the Andy Weir’s book of the same name for which the movie was based. I only heard good things about it and those things were correct. I got through the novel in two days. The science jargon was a bit heavy, but I’m sure that people not as dumb as I enjoyed it immensely.
The film version was very faithful to the book, though clearly had to cut a lot out in order to keep it to a respectable running time. But I enjoyed the movie so much that I wouldn’t have minded if it ran a bit longer.
So for those of you that love the ‘behind the scenes’ material like I do, here is some B-Roll from the film. I always just find this stuff so fascinating to watch. And I really do wonder why they never release this raw footage on the Blu-rays.
