A Hero, a Scoundrel, a Princess. Add to that a Wise Old Man, a Cloaked Villain in Black, and a Death Star. Throw in a couple of Droids for good measure and what do we have?
Star Wars! 1977. The film that changed the film industry. Showed the importance of holding onto those merchandising rights. Made Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher household names. Turned George Lucas into a film god (that is, until he made those prequels). And most importantly, convinced me not to become a doctor and instead enter the entertainment industry. Stupid Lucas!
There is nothing I can say about “Star Wars” that you don’t already know so let’s just get to it. What we have below is the Souvenir Movie Book that was sold in movie theater lobbies when the original “Star Wars” opened in ’77.
