A supposed bootleg video has been making the internet rounds this week that shows the end tag from “Avengers: Age of Ulton.” In it, we get our first appearance of Spider-man in the MCU. It’s actually pretty funny.
But the problem here isn’t that it was leaked. It’s that it’s apparently not real. Hence, no spoiler warning here.
Per Joss Wedon, the film’s writer/director… “We wanted to be clear that there was no tag scene at the very, very end of the film. Because after sitting through 40 minutes of credits and not seeing anything, we thought people would become irate. [Laughs] So no, I don’t know where that started.”
The video is actually very well done and quite creative in the way it was shot in order to make us think it was a real bootleg. And quite frankly, I thought it would have been a fun way to introduce Spider-man and probably would have been the best of the MCU tags to date.
I’m kind of surprised they aren’t doing a post-credits scene for this film. I think it may be the first time they haven’t added a tag onto the end of one of these things. But according to Joss Wedon, even though there isn’t a post-credits scene, there is indeed a mid-credits scene. So don’t get up too quickly when the credits hit.
But don’t worry folks. Spider-man is on the way. He is to make his first official Marvel appearance in next years “Captain America: Civil War.”
In the meantime, here’s that video!
