So this might happen.

It’s said that Mark Wahlberg is in talks for the movie version of this 70’s television show update of “The Six Million Dollar Man.”  Peter Berg might direct.

The show followed the exploits of Steve Austin (an astronaut, not the wrestler) who, after crashing an experimental aircraft, is rebuilt with mechanical parts, thereby becoming better, stronger, and faster than the average man.  He then goes on to become a secret agent for a government.  Today, ‘Six Million’ might only buy him a new finger, hence the upgrade of the movie to ‘Six Billion.’

Truth be told, I am currently near the end of watching season four of the TV series.  For some reason, I am determined to finish the entire series, though it doesn’t hold up well and is quite painful to watch.  I loved the show as a kid and am holding on to those good memories.  I would love to do a full breakdown of the series, but must keep this short today.  When I am through the entire series, I will do a fun review of both that and “The Bionic Woman,” another painful show to watch.  Though the beautiful Lindsay Wagner did help me get through it.

This is one of those properties that is ripe for a remake and could most definitely improve upon the original.  I had thought “The Bionic Woman” would have been a huge hit when it premiered on NBC back in 2007.  But due to severe network interference, that show turned out to be utter crap.  NBC only has it self to blame for ruining what would have otherwise most likely been a huge hit.  And I would have hoped that other networks would have learned from that fiasco.

Anyhow, I’m interested in seeing what comes of this.
