I haven’t done a ‘Shia LaBeouf’s Bag of Shame‘ in quite a long while.  But I thought it was time to pull it out of moth balls for this little diddy. 

Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna attended George Clooney’s Beverly Hills Halloween soiree this past weekend, dressed as the Sex Pistols rocker, Sid Vicious and girlfriend, Nancy Spungen. 

Hamlin was emulating Vicious’ dress style all the way down to his swastika T-shirt.  This, naturally, caused a bit of a stir. 

Hey, I’m all for the first amendment and freedom of creative choice.  But even where freedom is concerned, there is a line you just don’t cross sometimes and wearing the swastika as part of a fun Halloween costume is that line.  As a matter of fact, it should never be worn for any reason whatsoever.  And if you don’t know why or happen to disagree with me, then I suggest you crack open a history book and do a little learnin’. 

Even the 1986 film “Sid and Nancy” based on these characters was wise enough to change the swastika to a Soviet hammer and sickle.  Though I’m not really sure how much better that is.

So Harry Hamlin, congratulations!  You’ve just received the ‘Shia LaBeouf’s Bag of Shame‘ for being such a dumb-dumb!  You could have chosen to go as anything else, so why that outfit?

And with that, I end it by saying the shirt in the pic below would have been a better choice.  You can never go wrong by symbolizing “The Greatest American Hero” instead of the greatest American villain.
