If you were burning with curiosity as to the title of the next James Bond film, well your wait is over. Drum roll please…. It will go by the name of “SPECTRE.”
As Bond fans already know, SPECTRE stands for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion. Sounds like a fun group. This fictional terrorist organization first appeared in Bond’s first big screen adventure “Dr. No” back in 1962.
Returning to the franchise are of course, Daniel Craig as James Bond, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny, Rory Kinnear as Tanner, and Ralph Fiennes as M (taking over the role from Judi Dench, though he plays a different M).
New to the film is the great Christoph Waltz as Oberhauser, Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra, Andrew Scott (Moriarty from “Sherlock”) as Denbigh, Lea Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, and Dave Bautista (Drax from “Guardians of the Galaxy”) as Mr. Hinx.
Same Mendes returns as director. It is written by John Logan and Neal Purvis & Robert Wade (same writers as “Skyfall.”) The film will shoot at Pinewood Studios as well as exteriors in London, Rome, Mexico City, Erfoud, Tangier, and the Austrian Alps.
As for the famous Bond car, this time around it will be the Aston Marin DB10, designed specifically for the film.
And what’s it about? “A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.”
The film is due for release on November 6, 2015. Since that’s less than a year from now, they better get a crackin’.
