We’re now up to episode 8 in this latest run of “Doctor Who.”  In this episode entitled “Mummy on the Orient Express” the Doctor and Clara agree to go on one more final adventure as they board a spaceship train to the stars. 

After last week’s episode, Clara has forgiven the Doctor’s behavior from “Kill the Moon.”  But she has decided that she can no longer travel with him so this current trip will be their last.  And as you know by now, nothing goes according to plan on “Doctor Who.” Oh, and a Mummy starts killing people.

I thought this episode was a huge improvement over the previous ones.  I was completely engaged and enjoyed it throughout.  The resolution was a little silly as usual, but that’s just par for the course for “Doctor Who” sometimes.  Capaldi was excellent as usual.  And as a welcome surprise, in one scene he channeled Tom Baker’s Doctor and did a call back to Christopher Eccleston’s Doctor by quoting the line “Are you my mummy?”

Anyhow, there is clearly a larger threat in play to the Doctor and I’m hoping they plan to reveal some answers very soon since we only have four episodes to go.  And with those four episodes, I certainly hope they are as exciting as this one.
