“Doctor Who’s” 4th episode this year I feel was a step up from the previous three episodes, albeit a little out there and weird in a slightly confusing way. Maybe I’m just still getting used to the new tone of the show.
In this episode, the Doctor feels as if maybe the reason we talk to ourselves is because we are never alone. He begins to feel as if he is always being watched so he picks up Clara (just off a bungled date) and whisks her away to the end of time in order to prove his new hypothesis. Then there is something about everyone having the same nightmare, a creature hiding under your bed, telepathic Tardis circuits, and a bit about picking up a stranded time traveler in the far future who may or may not be related to Clara.
I won’t spoil the end of the episode, but it was definitely unexpected. And with the throw-away line that I touched upon last week and the ending of this episode, I’m beginning to think I see a pattern building. It will be interesting to see if I’m right as the show continues on. I would get into more specifics, but in case you haven’t seen the episode, I don’t want to ruin it for you. Then again, you probably shouldn’t be here if you haven’t watched it yet. So stop spoiling yourself and just get to it already.
But if you have seen it, then here is the fourth episode of “Doctor Who Extra” followed by the preview for next weeks episode entitled “Time Heist.”
