So “Jurassic World” turned out to be a huge smashing hit this past weekend. It made $208.8 million at the domestic box office and $524.4 million worldwide. That’s certainly a lot of moola! But I still think “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has a good shot of overtaking that record in December.
The previous record holder was Marvel’s “The Avengers” with a $207.4 million take at the domestic box office. So not one to be a sore loser, Marvel studio chief Kevin Feige tweeted out some congratulations to the team behind “Jurassic World.”
But I find it suspect that they then went ahead and followed that up with this next big announcement.
I’ll give Marvel this — at least they know how to adapt to the marketplace.
