Producer Adi Shankar has done it again. Immediately following the release of his “Power/Rangers” fan film comes the release (and banning) of his take on James Bond entitled “James Bond: In Service of Nothing.”
This animated film (done as a pre-visualization and directed by Tyler Gibb) uses the likeness of Sean Connery and tells the dark story of what happens to our favorite 007 years later after being taken out of the field and chained to a desk. Let’s just say he’s bored – and looking for action.
Well, it seems that MGM has had the film pulled from YouTube and doesn’t want it distributed online. Which is why I’m posting it here. As long as no one is making money from it, I’ve never seen a problem with fan expression for an entertainment property that they enjoy. “Star Wars” and “Star Trek” has embraced this fan film practice. Why not other franchises? (Well, I guess as long as they’re not slandering said property.)
Anyhow, enjoy the short film below. It is followed by a brief interview with Adi Shankar talking about his concept for the Bond character. Screenshots appear after.
