This is the headline I awoke to early this morning on CNN’s site.
Justin Bieber was arrested for DUI, resisting arrest, and driving with an expired license. Apparently his street racing caught the eyes of the police. I would think that the cops would know by now that racing isn’t nearly as much fun if you actually have a license and are completely sober. I only do mine “in-the-gutter drunk.”
Now I’m not one to wish anyone ill will, but for some reason, this brings a smile to my face. I’ve always really disliked this kid. I honestly don’t know why. I have since the first time I saw his face plastered on the cover of a magazine in the grocery store back in 2010 and I didn’t even know who the hell he was. I just instantly disliked him and that stupid haircut he used to have. Who knows? Maybe it was just the haircut. I’ve disliked people for less. Or maybe it was my renowned sixth sense. Possibly I just knew he was going to grow up to be a little shit.
While I do try and steer away from any story having to do with his behavioral problems, or just him in general, it’s a bit tough to do unless you throw the internet away.
Much like Lindsay Lohan, you just know this kid is not going to have a happy ending unless he makes some serious changes to his life. But apparently he has no parental supervision or anyone really guiding him. He’s had too much of the good life these last couple of years and I’m sure that can really be addicting. It’s nice not to have anyone telling you what to do. Add millions of dollars and super fame and I couldn’t even imagine the high. If you’re a mature adult and you fought and struggled for your career you at least have a chance of surviving that kind of rush. But an inexperienced, immature kid has no chance unless he has a good support system in place.
As for his mother, it seems that she gave up a lot of her personal life to raise this kid. Well, from his behavior over the last couple of years, I’d say she wasted a lot of her life. Props for trying.
But ultimately, why this story really makes me happy… I just like knowing that when people act like assholes all of the time, justice is there waiting hand and foot. Bieber’s a brat! You can belieber that.
