King Kong, that big lovable ape, made his second appearance on the big screen in 1976 alongside Jeff Bridges, Charles Grodin, and the very shiny and brand new out-of-the-box Jessica Lange. It was a remake of the classic 1933 film.
The movie was produced by Dino De Laurentiis with a screenplay by Lorenzo Semple, Jr. (famous for the 60’s TV version of “Batman”).
The film is about a Giant Ape that is captured and not-so-wisely brought to New York. If they brought him to Los Angeles instead, he probably would have been running one of the movie studios within a week.
