So we are now up to Episode 10 for this current season of “Doctor Who.” The episode “In the Forest of the Night” finds the Doctor, Clara, Danny, and a whole bunch of annoying kids trying to solve the mystery as to why a new forest has grown all around London. Actually, it’s not just London, but we find that the entire Earth has been engulfed in trees. To make matters worse, a Solar Flare is on it’s way to Earth which threatens to destroy the planet.
This was, without doubt, one of the worst episodes of the show to date. Not just this season, but every season. Bad acting, bad motivations, terrible script, misconceived story, and just way too many little kids running about. And I’ve got absolutely nothing against kids. It’s just that this episode played less like a “Doctor Who” episode and more like an environmental kiddy show. It was bad.
This season has had its ups and downs. Up until now, it has improved quite a bit. And as much as I love anything “Doctor Who” it might be time for another reboot. But I’ll save my overall judgement on this season until the end of the two-part finale.
Below, we have the introduction to this current episode, followed by the new episode of “Doctor Who Extra” and the preview for next week’s episode “Dark Water,” which happens to be the first part of the season finale.
