I don’t know about you, but I was a huge fan of the David Fincher’s film “Fight Club.” But I always saw it as just a ‘one-off.’ Never saw a reason for a sequel. And I’m not really sure I want one. The first film was just perfect. Why mess with it? I don’t need another “Blue Brothers 2000” or “Crystal Skull.”
So thankfully, we’re not getting a sequel in the form of a film. Instead, we will get the sequel in the form of a comic book series written by original creator Chuck Palahniuk and artwork by Cameron Stewart. But more accurately, it’s a sequel to Palahniuk’s novel as opposed to Fincher’s movie. I’m not really sure what the differences are since I shamefully haven’t read the book… yet.
As the comic opens, we learn that it is 10 years later and The Narrator (who goes by the name Sebastian) is now married to Marla Singer. They now have a son, who seems to take after his father just a little too much.
Instead of revealing anything further, I’ll just let you take a peek at the first 6 pages of the graphic novel, along with a fun little ’emergency landing’ guide and a mock up of a “Fight Club” board game (which sadly isn’t real).
The 10-issue story will be release by Dark Horse Comics on May 27th.
