Fox’s “Deadpool” starring Ryan Reynolds as the titular character to be rated PG-13? Blasphemy! Well, it was only meant to be an April Fools joke. As the below video shows, “Deadpool” will indeed be rated R when it hits cinemas next year.
Oh, and Mario Lopez has the honor of getting a smackdown from Deadpool himself. Which is why I thought it was worth a post here in case you missed it a few days back.
And if you don’t know who Deadpool is – he’s Marvel’s Wade Wilson, a quick healing, martial arts, smartass mercenary. And that’s all you really need to know.
Ryan played him previously in the 2009 pic “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” but this incarnation seems to be a complete reboot. Wisely so since it seems a lot of people didn’t really like that Wolverine pic very much. I personally thought it was fine.
And for you comic fans, you know by now that they are killing Deadpool off in a few days in Issue #250. I believe that issue hits stands on April 8. I would have said SPOILER, but since that issue is entitled “The Death of Deadpool,” well, it sort of speaks for itself.
The feature version of this character has a February 12, 2016 release date. And if you’d like to see the Test Reel that kicked the whole thing off, click HERE. It’s good. It’s worth the viewing.
